Avalin, which operates within Avalab, the IT division of AVA Group, presented a project to develop a localized system for the digital transformation of cities, universities, and development projects, connecting the markets of China and BRICS countries.
Experts noted the well-designed innovative approach to territorial digitalization and the deep, practice-oriented integration of artificial intelligence algorithms into development processes.
The jury was especially impressed by the company’s digital twin of the campuses of Xiamen University and Lomonosov Moscow State University, created in a record short time of just one and a half months. This project became a flagship case that demonstrated Avalin’s potential to deliver large-scale international initiatives in education and urban planning.
“The success of Avalin is clear proof that Russian startups have everything needed to become full-fledged global technology players. We are removing barriers between regions and world markets, showing the competitiveness of domestic solutions,” said Grigory Aleksanyan, CEO of Avalab.
The successful defense of the project before a Chinese state committee not only brought the company the grant, it also became a strategically important stage in Avalin’s development. Based on this achievement, the company is beginning to localize its key operations in China, including the R&D center, the production department, and critical stages of development.
“We are proud to be the first company in our sector to receive grant support from the Chinese side. This is not only recognition of our technologies, it is also the start of a new chapter, Avalin China. Localizing the project in China will make it possible to create a full international technology base for digital twins of cities, universities, and residential complexes,” said Vladislav Matorkin, founder and CEO of Avalin.
The company plans to expand its presence in China and participate in the Digital China 2025 and Smart City programs.

Its key goal is to provide a platform to showcase outstanding projects and enable mutual learning among countries.
